Fruit Importers
Core requirements for
licensed Fair Trade fruit importers:
- Sign TransFair USA's License agreement to become
a licensed importer.
- Purchase fruit from licensed Fair Trade producers
certified by TransFair's umbrella organization, Fair Trade Labeling
Organizations (FLO). For seasonal availability of products by origin,
click here.
- Pay at least the Fair Trade minimum price to producers.
Fair Trade minimum prices vary by product, country of origin, and organic
status. A Fair Trade premium (generally 10-20% of minimum price) is
paid on top of the Fair Trade minimum price. Please ask us for a price
list.
- Pay a certification fee to TransFair of US$0.01/lb or less (please ask us about discounts that are available) on all Fair Trade Certified fruit purchases.
- File quarterly purchasing and sales reports of Fair
Trade products with TransFair USA.
- Work with TransFair USA to market your Fair
Trade Certified products.
